St John United Methodist Church is located in the village of Avon, North Carolina on historic Hatteras Island. Whether you’re a full-time resident or a visitor who’s only here for a few days, we want you to come and worship with us! You’ll find our congregation is warm and friendly and you’ll feel right at home. Our services are casual, so please ‘come as you are’.

Sunday School @ 9:45am
We have classes for every age, from Kindergarten to adults. We initially gather together in the church sanctuary for a brief opening and then everyone is dismissed to their individual classes.
Sunday Worship Service @ 11am
Our worship services include music, messages, and multimedia that focus on God’s love and call to us through His Holy Spirit and Scriptures.

Our location:
Follow NC-12 into Avon between mile markers 55 and 55.5 and look for the stoplight at the corner of NC-12 and Harbor Road.
Turn onto Harbor Road and go past the Avon Fire Station and then turn left onto McMullen Road.
Stay on McMullen Road for half a mile and then you’ll see St John on your right at the corner of McMullen Road and Methodist Church Road.
